Easypanel

Easypanel

DevOps · Version 2.37.0 · Debian 13

Your Seed is up within seconds and sets up Easypanel on its first boot. A few minutes later the app is ready to use.

Easypanel (https://easypanel.io) is a web interface for running applications, databases and Compose stacks on your Seed. You connect a Git repository or pick a Docker image. Easypanel builds the service, starts it and sets up the domain with an HTTPS certificate. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB and Redis come as ready-made services, and you manage them with phpMyAdmin or DbGate. Easypanel backs up these databases on a schedule to S3, FTP or Google Drive. The interface shows logs and resource usage. A push to your GitHub repository can trigger a new deployment. The free plan covers up to three projects with any number of services. You buy larger plans per server, directly from Easypanel. The installation does not need a license key. By installing, you accept the Easypanel Terms of Service.

After the first boot

On first boot, the Seed installs Docker, sets up Easypanel with Traefik as the reverse proxy and creates your admin account with the email address you entered. The interface is ready 2 to 5 minutes after you order. Once Easypanel is running, you find the address of the interface in /root/ready.txt and the login details in /root/easypanel-credentials.txt. If /root/failed.txt appears instead, it gives the reason. If both files are still missing, the setup is still running. The complete log is in /root/easypanel-install.log. You read these files over SSH or in the Seed's console.

Sign in with the login details from /root/easypanel-credentials.txt and create your first project. In the project you add services, such as an app from a Git repository or a Docker image, a database, or one of Easypanel's templates. You give each service a domain. Once its DNS record points to the Seed, Easypanel sets up the HTTPS certificate.

You can also give Easypanel itself your own domain. Point the domain's A record to the Seed's IPv4 address. If you add an AAAA record, it must point to the Seed's IPv6 address. Then enter the domain under Settings > Panel Domain, and Easypanel sets up the certificate.

Easypanel does not update itself on this Seed. Before an update, take a snapshot of the Seed. Then run easypanel-update <version> on the Seed. New versions are listed on Docker Hub.

Under Network > Firewalls, create a firewall that allows TCP 22, 80 and 443. That also blocks port 3000, where Easypanel is otherwise reachable without encryption.

By installing, you accept the Easypanel Terms of Service.
