From now on, you can assign multiple public IPv4 addresses to a single Seed. Additional addresses can be added and removed directly via the console and are immediately available to your Seed.
Why multiple IPv4 addresses?
In many scenarios, a single public IPv4 address is not enough. With additional addresses, you can cleanly separate different services, run applications on their own IP addresses, or implement specific integrations that require a fixed, dedicated address.
Typical use cases include:
- Hosting multiple services on separate IPv4 addresses
- Dedicated sender addresses for mail servers
- Accessing external services with dedicated IPv4 addresses
Managing additional IPv4 addresses
By default, each Seed can optionally be ordered with one public IPv4 address. From now on, you can add further IPv4 addresses to an existing Seed.
You create new addresses directly in the Seed overview under the Network tab via the IPv4 table. They appear there in the table immediately after being added.
Routing to the Seed is set up automatically. Afterwards, you only need to configure the new address once on your Seed.
For a detailed walkthrough, follow our guide Configure additional IPv4 addresses on a seed step by step.
You can remove addresses you no longer need at any time via the same IPv4 table.
Controlling via the Public API
Multiple IPv4 addresses can be managed entirely through our Public API. You can add additional addresses to your Seed or remove them again. To do so, use the new Seed actions add-ipv4 and remove-ipv4. At the same time, enable-ipv4 and disable-ipv4 have been deprecated and replaced by the new actions.
Number of IPv4 addresses
How many additional IPv4 addresses you can book is defined per team and starts at three. This means you can assign up to three IPv4 addresses to each Seed in your team, as long as capacity is available. If you need more, feel free to reach out to our support team.
Good to know
- Additional IPv4 addresses can be assigned to individual Seeds.
- Management is done directly via the seed overview under
Networkor through the Public API. - Additional IPv4 addresses are billed according to the rates listed in the price list.
